Matt’s career began in the United States Marine Corps, After his time was completed with the Marines, Matt continued to serve as a professional fire fighter.

While working full time with the Milwaukee Fire Department, Matt earned his bachelor’s degree at UW-Milwaukee, double majoring in Finance and Accounting then going on to complete his CPA exams. Matt made the career change from firefighter into financial services with BDO, as a Tax Associate. Here Matt gained experience working with complex, multinational returns for large corporations and pass-through entities.

Seeking to combine the perspective and understanding of a CPA to a more personal aspect of finances, Matt joined Affiliated Financial Advisors as Financial Advisor/Tax Manager. He worked with individuals during the financial planning process, adding the benefit of tax planning and proactive tax advising.
